The living competitive field

Compare capabilities and delivery evidence. Source discovery, qualification, deployment and accepted outcomes are separate; an open contract names work still to verify.

The industry's own lists, read mechanically per domain, ranked by agreement across seeds, the declared population enumerated as data, rendered beside every matrix as the population its columns were picked from -- then re-read off-peak so no board goes stale

Overview

The purpose, declared position and evidence coverage of this domain. Source presence and completed acceptance are different measures.

Where we are. MEASURED 2026-09-05 through the estate's own instruments. Every /compare matrix carries an @cols line a seat typed by hand -- modding carries six (DanceXR, Blender 4.5 plus addons, Skyrim stack, Palworld stack, Steam Workshop, Wallpaper Engine) -- and nothing on the surface ever measured whether those six are the field or a sample of it. The rival names were never re-read after admission, so a board's competitive picture is exactly as old as its admission day. The estate DID already hold the pieces of a living field: nx_research_fetch mirrors any public page with a sha pin and a provenance row, knowledge/fetched is the durable evidence store 102 domains cite, the intelmine miner reads Steam reviews into a rubric, nx_websearch is a sovereign query index, and clk_storm_defer defers any clock row under a storm. What was missing was ONE mechanical reader of the industry's own lists and ONE renderer in the emitter. Both landed today: nx_field_lib (Wikipedia wikitext, GitHub topic pages and awesome-list markdown read into candidate rows with seeds_hit and mentions, ref and template links excluded, namespace links dropped, case-insensitive dedupe, ordered by seed agreement then mentions) proven by nx_field_gate 17 of 17 on the NAS with two planted bites; nx_field_discover (seeds file to <dom>.field with a partition receipt) built 44,822 B; field_pass in nx_swcompare_lib renders the field for both generators and prints columns_in_field of columns. The rival columns on this board (five at admission, seven after the operator's same-day correction that five results is a sample) are the industry's own ways of publishing a field, each read from its methodology page and pinned in fieldwatch.refs; Capterra answered 403 and IDC MarketScape a status-0 TLS fragment, so neither is a column.

Where we need to go. Every /compare domain carries a <dom>.seeds row set naming where the industry lists itself, a <dom>.field the estate wrote by reading those lists, and a stats line that measures the matrix columns as a subset of that field -- so a seat's pick is visible as a pick. The field is LIVING: an off-peak clock beat under clk_storm_defer re-fetches every seed, compares by hash, re-runs discovery on drift, and lands every appearance or disappearance as a comparewatch row and a PM intake item. It is INTELLIGENT: candidates are ordered by agreement across independent seeds, weighted by the review-volume signal the intelmine miner already produces, and fed by the sovereign search index so the query-ranked view enters without a third party. Exceed the field where it structurally cannot follow: no analyst panel, no pay-for-placement, no login wall -- a field any seat, AI or human can regenerate from pinned bytes, with the columns' coverage of it printed on the page.

The unit. 1 u = one measured session-leg. Calibration: the lib, its gate, the CLI and the emitter pass all landed in one leg on 2026-09-05 while the modding tier organ shipped in the same session; estimates recalibrate as each rung lands.
Cost to the field discovered and rendered on one board: 2 u. Milestone M0: discovery run on modding, the emitter pass built and promoted at all three roots, the coverage stats line live on /compare/modding.
Cost to a living field: 5 u. Through M1: the off-peak beat, seed drift by hash, and the flip into comparewatch and PM so the hive sees the field move.
Cost to an intelligent field: 9 u. Through M2: the sovereign search index as a seed kind, rival capability pages read into columns, and the review-volume signal weighting rivals.
Cost to an accepted field: 9.5 u. Milestone M3: referee grade, operator ACCEPT row and seat attestation on the first domain, then the fleet campaign one seeds file per domain.

Research bar. Analyst quadrant bar is measured on how an analyst house publishes a field. Theirs: Gartner positions four provider types -- leaders, visionaries, niche players and challengers -- in fast-growing markets, on a vendor set the analysts select [gartner-mq]. Ours: FW1 discovers the vendor set from public lists instead of a panel; FW7 reads each rival's own claims rather than an analyst's prose.

Research bar. Review grid bar is measured on how a review site scores a field. Theirs: a G2 Score is calculated from two components, Satisfaction and Market Presence, with review decay recalculated daily and scores normalized within each category [g2-scoring]. Ours: FW8 ties the intelmine review miner to the field so demand and defects weight rivals; FW4 gives the field a decay of its own through the off-peak beat.

Research bar. Crowd alternatives bar is measured on how a community lists alternatives. Theirs: a free service that helps you find better alternatives to the products you love and hate, made by two people in Sweden with community help [alternativeto-about]. Ours: FW1's seed kinds read the crowd's lists (Wikipedia, awesome lists) mechanically; FW5 keeps them fresh by re-fetch and hash.

Research bar. Code-hosting topic bar is measured on how a code host indexes a field. Theirs: topic pages list repositories tagged by their authors, presented in the order the site ranks them [github-topics]. Ours: FW1's gh-topic seed kind reads them; FW6 adds the sovereign search index so query-ranked rivals enter the same field.

FLEET PUBLISHED 2026-09-05: the regen launched after the fleet beat (lease regen-1788652481, all four generator forks FORK-FRESH) rendered a field table beside every board that carries a .field -- /compare/stem reads field candidates 4, shown 4 of 4, matrix columns in the field 4 of 4, discovered rivals with no column 0 (the honest shape of a derived field: the declared columns and nothing beyond them until discovery seeds are curated); /compare/graphics page_verify GREEN 504081 B with 5 assets decoded; /compare/fieldwatch page_verify GREEN 104138 B with its own field, the FW4 and FW5 cells LIVE (fw_beat, fw_refetch_drift measured at emit) and the FW12 row present. FW5 wire witness: a one-domain control run of the promoted beat over graphics reported drifted=1 of 2 seeds and stamped /tmp/fb_one.list.stamp with drifted_total=1, leaving knowledge/status/fieldbeat.stamp untouched.

Evidence profile — what the gaps on this board actually are

Unstamped. No evidence profile is published for this domain yet: run nx_swcompare_evidence fieldwatch and this section fills itself on the next beat. No numbers are shown, deliberately — a zero-filled profile would read as a board with no gaps, which is the one wrong answer nobody would question.

Rung dossiers — every record that bears on a rung, in one place

Joined by symbol, never typed. Each dossier is assembled on every publish from the rows this board already carries: the plan's rung row, the matrix row that carries its contract symbol (its status re-measured by the one symbol ruler), the gate the organ declares and the verdict the evidence referee recorded on its last run, the reference marks in the rung text, the design rows that name the rung and the work log filed against it. The capability matrix links each cell to its dossier and each dossier links back to its cell and forward to the rungs it stands on; a dependency naming no rung on this plan is written as UNRESOLVED rather than linked. Absences are named: NO-MATRIX-ROW, NO-GATE-DECLARED, UNRECORDED.
Gate verdicts: UNSTAMPED — no per-gate verdict artifact is published for this domain yet (nx_swcompare_evidence fieldwatch writes it beside its stamp); every gate below reads UNRECORDED until it runs.
Gate declarations: knowledge/organ_gate.conf read from this working directory (1 rows) and from the estate root (196 rows); rows in both counted once: 0; declarations read: 197. Every declaration in either copy counts, so a stub beside the publisher can never hide the root.

2026-09-05 lesson REFUSED BY THE GENERATOR'S LIAR-KILL 2026-09-05 (regen 1788641012: published=227 fails=3, forkfresh=4): NX-SWCOMPARE-MATRIX domain=fieldwatch rows=16 cols=7 coverage=562/1000 verdict=RED, check failed present<5 -- six of the eight live rows claimed EXCEEDS and only two read PRESENT. The refusal is correct: a board where nearly every mechanism row claims to exceed the field is a liar by construction. Regraded: EXCEED stays on three rows only (discovery from public lists, the declared population, columns measured as a subset of the field) and the mechanism rows (ordering, emit, fetch, render) are PRESENT; six PRESENT rows now. The same run republished /compare/modding with the tiered field (229,453 B).
2026-09-05 land PUBLISHED 2026-09-05: /compare/fieldwatch served for the first time by regen 1788643041 after the regrade (six PRESENT rows cleared the liar-kill) -- nx_page_verify through nx_job_run: page status=200 bytes=84491 a11y-issues=0 broken=0 VERDICT=GREEN, seven rival columns rendered. DEFECT SEEN ON THE RENDER, queued: every rival cell shows absent because the cells were written as prose while the generator reads the numeric presence vocabulary the other boards use, so the page under-reports the rivals and the generated Pros over-claim ahead-of on all seven; the cells are being regraded to the vocabulary and republished.
2026-09-05 land REPUBLISHED 2026-09-05: the regraded fieldwatch.matrix landed (7242 to 9106 B; the write answered 503 read-after-accept and HAD committed, proven by size then by reading the cells back) and the regen holding lease regen-1788646308 published it -- nx_page_verify through nx_job_run: page status=200 bytes=90077 a11y-issues=0 broken=0 VERDICT=GREEN; all four generator forks FORK-FRESH. The served rows now render present, partial and leads marks for the seven rivals with their [ref] anchors, and the generated Pros follow the graded cells: the sovereign-fetch row claims ahead-of only the three paywalled columns, the exceed rows lead by measurement. Residue the emitter named on the render, closed the same hour: one row badged rival marks uncited (the search-results watch row carried a Best mark with no reference) -- the Google ranking-systems page was fetched under this board's own row (210281 B, pin cd4a2c27) and cited as google-ranking. Adoption axis as published: nx_field_lib reads LIB-UNCENSUSED (younger than the last eco-graph build, self-heals on the next graph beat) and nx_field_discover read REGISTERED-UNAUTHORISED until its cap was minted this evening (nonce 20260905, 30 days). Two defects were found on REAL data before the fleet ran and fixed in the ruler, not the data: the Unreal Engine 5 column first matched a social-share png url, then an extension-less CMS asset whose refs MIRROR field was .img -- the mirror field is the seat's own declaration of what was fetched, so a member page must pass the page test on BOTH url and mirror. FLEET PASS: nx_field_seedgen --all over regen.list = domains 111 generated 102 hand 1 (modding, untouched) no_matrix 0 no_cols 0 no_sourced 8 unwritable 0 sum 111; columns 467 sourced 351 unsourced 116. The eight with nothing sourceable are charsim pmdash performance review appliedmath observability skintwin codeeffectiveness -- their refs name no column page, so no file was written and the beat keeps skipping them; every unsourced column is a named comment in its seeds file. The beat was fired by hand once so the 102 fields land tonight; the clock row carries it daily from here.

2026-09-06 land FLEET PUBLISHED 2026-09-05: the regen launched after the fleet beat (lease regen-1788652481, all four generator forks FORK-FRESH) rendered a field table beside every board that carries a .field -- /compare/stem reads field candidates 4, shown 4 of 4, matrix columns in the field 4 of 4, discovered rivals with no column 0 (the honest shape of a derived field: the declared columns and nothing beyond them until discovery seeds are curated); /compare/graphics page_verify GREEN 504081 B with 5 assets decoded; /compare/fieldwatch page_verify GREEN 104138 B with its own field, the FW4 and FW5 cells LIVE (fw_beat, fw_refetch_drift measured at emit) and the FW12 row present. FW5 wire witness: a one-domain control run of the promoted beat over graphics reported drifted=1 of 2 seeds and stamped /tmp/fb_one.list.stamp with drifted_total=1, leaving knowledge/status/fieldbeat.stamp untouched.

Work log2026-09-05 queue QUEUED 2026-09-05, in ranker order, each with its recipe: (1) FW4 fw_beat -- a clock row `nx_clockjob put fieldbeat <cadence> nx_field_beat.elf` whose organ composes clk_storm_defer and an off-peak window from knowledge/peak_window.conf (to be declared), re-running nx_field_discover per domain in regen.list and stamping <journal>.stamp with rows=; (2) FW5 fw_refetch_drift -- in the same organ, hash each seed mirror against fetch_provenance.jrnl's pin, DRIFTED re-runs discovery; add a REDIRECT-following leg to nx_field_discover (a wiki-raw mirror under 128 B beginning #REDIRECT re-fetches its target title, announced) and a SIZE-FLOOR stub classifier for named mirrors (mod.io 3,281 B, Bethesda Creations 763 B, Paradox Mods 3,186 B, ModDrop 2,533 B, Wabbajack 1,460 B, Smutbase and Open3DLab 7,388 B are JS shells or bot walls today and count as fetched); (3) FW9 fw_pm_tieout -- diff two consecutive .field files, land appearances and disappearances as comparewatch rows (knowledge/store/comparewatch-, full prefix) and nx_pm_intake items; (4) FW7 fw_rival_read -- read one declared member's capability page into a proposed column with every cell traceable to a pinned byte, starting with Nexus Mods and LoversLab on the modding board; (5) a fleet campaign: one <dom>.seeds per domain in regen.list (109 domains), declared population first, discovery seeds second. Then nx_gate_bite nx_field_gate runtime/nx_field_lib.nx 2 when the box is quiet (every mutant build is a deploy).
2026-09-06 land SEED DRIFT SHIPPED 2026-09-05 as a MEASUREMENT: nx_field_discover already re-fetched every seed on every run (only a failed fetch reuses the mirror on disk), so drift is measured, not inferred -- the previous mirror is snapshotted before the fetch and byte-compared with the one that replaces it (fd_same), each changed seed prints FIELD-SEED-DRIFTED key= old_bytes= new_bytes=, and the receipt gains drifted= same= fresh=; discover PROMOTED 86efa719 (56344 B). nx_field_beat gained fw_refetch_drift (the watch symbol: the receipt's drifted= or UNPARSED when absent, never summed as zero), a drifted= column per domain row and drifted_total= in the stamp; PROMOTED b26be1cf (43496 B). nx_field_beat_gate gained the stamp-carries-drifted_total tooth: 29 of 29 GREEN on the NAS from the PROMOTED binary 0702eb08. Byte drift is a COUNT the stamp publishes, never an alarm: a page carrying a per-request nonce drifts every beat; the alarm is the .field diff FW9 raises when a rival appears or vanishes. Wire witness: the next clock-fired beat writes drifted_total into knowledge/status/fieldbeat.stamp; a one-domain control run stamps beside its own list.

Work log2026-09-05 lesson OPERATOR CORRECTION 2026-09-05: "things like nexus lexus and all the other major modding communities were ignored so i dont like the 5 results and done sample bullshit". The first discovered field was drawn from 3D-software lists and the boards' @cols were seats' picks. Remedy: the population is ENUMERATED as data (31 named communities and model sources on modding.seeds), every member mirrored and pinned, and discovery seeds corroborate rather than define it. FL_KIND_NAMED, fl_named_add, the CLI's sixth seed field and three gate teeth are source-landed; rebuild, ship and the second discovery run follow.
2026-09-05 lesson PROMOTE GUARD 2026-09-05: the named-kind rebuilds of nx_field_gate (52,028 B) and nx_field_discover (46,723 B) were REFUSED class=CAPLOSS against live binaries of 57,888 and 52,960 B (220 permil and 494 permil of live tokens absent). nx_contentdiff adjudicated both: symmetry=BIDIRECTIONAL, lost_srcpath 8 + lost_symbolname 67 + lost_sectname 3 on the gate with lost_other=0, i.e. every loss is compiler-embedded debug metadata -- the live twins came from the mgmt build lane (which builds with -g) and the stages from the sovereign lane (release); on the discover organ lost_other=3 and all three are the messages this rung rewrote (the unknown-kind text now names `named`, the .field header now names the declared population), each present on the GAINED side. Remedy taken as the ruler prescribes: rebuild both with --build-only --debug so the guard compares like with like, rather than passing allow_capability_loss=yes. The mgmt lane itself refused both builds under the run-queue storm (queued as BQ rows), which is why the sovereign lane staged them.
2026-09-05 land SHIPPED 2026-09-05: nx_field_gate rebuilt in the debug flavour (60,400 B, sha 94a9abdd4067eab8074d86cf94af1e12eb339e21fb81d7c8e067f22b1857c7c6, debug-info subprograms=74) -> PROMOTED with expect_sha256 and NO capability-loss flag (the guard cleared once flavours matched, confirming the ruler's flavour-mismatch reading) -> offc twin installed -> run on the NAS from the promoted binary: NX-NX-FIELD passed 20 of 20 verdict=GREEN, named_distinct=5, both bites BITE-PROVEN. fieldwatch.gates row updated to the 20-tooth read. nx_field_discover debug build 54,672 B sha 1dae8077e442eb5c754d0bb637c313c61c86457f9663f236e492ebe2e380fb8b staged byte-verified; promote in flight, then the second discovery run over the 41-seed modding set.
2026-09-05 measure SECOND FIELD 2026-09-05 (nx_field_discover modding, promoted 1dae8077, via nx_job_run): seeds=43 scanned=38 fetched=38 reused=0 failed=5 sum=43 named=31 candidates=650 mentions=1207 capped=0 bytes=40252. Every one of the 31 declared communities is in the field with its url; 26 of their home pages mirrored and pinned by the fetcher, 5 counted failed by name (TurboSquid, VRoid Hub, BOOTH, 3DRipper over plain http, and the GitHub nexus-mods topic). Named-seed pages the fetcher saved SMALL and which are therefore JS shells or bot walls, not evidence about the member: mod.io 3,281 B, Bethesda Creations 763 B, Paradox Mods 3,186 B, ModDrop 2,533 B, Wabbajack 1,460 B, Smutbase and Open3DLab 7,388 B each -- a size-floor stub classifier on named mirrors is the next tooth. Two wiki seeds were redirect stubs (Mod_DB 52 B -> ModDB; CurseForge 34 B -> Curse LLC) and are being repointed; a REDIRECT-following leg in the CLI is owed so a seed cannot silently score zero on a moved title.
2026-09-05 land TIERED ORDERING SHIPPED 2026-09-05: the second field showed the defect the operator would have seen next -- a declared member with one seed and one mention sorted below hundreds of encyclopedia links and outside the 60 rendered rows. nx_field_lib now lifts declared members by FL_DECLARED_TIER (64, above any seed popcount) in fl_order, and fl_named_add marks a merged member's kind word named so the page can tell population from lead. nx_field_gate gained two teeth (declared-members-order-first-as-a-tier; merged-member-carries-kind-named) and read 22 of 22 GREEN on the NAS from the PROMOTED binary 5eecabe78e8d063f7d16d84fc2e75a4328fd759d43473cd1d651a734f3541606 (61,592 B, debug flavour, promoted with expect_sha256 and no capability-loss flag); nx_field_discover rebuilt over the new lib and PROMOTED 29f1c36e08ea6515375a48d21567e7514e26f62b88bd77f958fdf186251ad5e2 (54,808 B); both offc twins installed; the third discovery run over modding is in flight and the regen follows it. Redirect stubs repointed: wiki-moddb -> ModDB, wiki-curseforge -> Curse_LLC.
2026-09-05 measure THIRD FIELD 2026-09-05 (promoted nx_field_discover 29f1c36e over the tiered lib): seeds=43 scanned=38 fetched=38 failed=5 sum=43 named=31 candidates=736 mentions=1338 capped=0 bytes=45507. The repointed encyclopedia seeds now read: ModDB 13,020 B with 39 links, Curse LLC 69,300 B with 93 links (their redirect stubs had scored 1 and 0). Declared members render first as a tier, then corroborated leads by seed agreement and mentions; the same five fetch failures recur by name (TurboSquid, VRoid Hub, BOOTH, 3DRipper over plain http, GitHub nexus-mods topic).

Position map — centrality and distinctiveness

The four-quadrant map the field uses for brand strategy (Dawar and Bagga, HBR June 2015), re-derived from this matrix on every publish. Centrality is the share of the category's feature mass a player covers, each feature weighted by how many hold it; distinctiveness is the average lead over each rival on the rows the player holds; breadth is the depth-weighted share of the whole matrix (the bubble); depth is how deeply the rows held are held; momentum is the day-over-day move off the spine (green rising, red falling, grey until day two); the dashed path runs first day → previous day → today. Dividers are the category means. Axes are fitted to the field of play, so read the tick numerals, not the frame. Rival marks are documented presence, so a rival's position reads the record, never its quality. The picture grades its own readability below; the table beside it is the same data for a screen reader or a second method.

How to read this evidence. A Nishi source mark records whether the named symbol is declared in the selected source file. It does not establish working behavior or accepted delivery. A watching tag names an expected source entry; discovering it updates source coverage only. A dark tag means the file exists but the named symbol was not found: inspect the source and contract before assuming the capability is missing or renaming code. Peer codes are authored assessments; unassessed means no comparison is established, not absence. Qualification, deployment identity, runtime observations and acceptance must carry their own evidence. Adoption records the catalog's observed path through source, build, promotion, registration and invocation; libraries use importer evidence and gates use declared execution surfaces. A full catalog path does not establish quality, freshness or a successful user outcome. Partial and unknown states retain their stated next action. Census stamps: importers asof 1790637268, gate census asof 1790104131 (unix seconds; -1 = census absent).

Field discovered from public lists, never picked by a seatSource present; authored stronger claim: fl_wiki_scan in runtime/nx_field_lib.nx, verified at emit. Wikipedia wikitext links read with ref and template links excluded and namespace links dropped; every candidate is counted across every seed so the field is the union of what the industry itself lists. Gartner and Forrester select their vendor sets by analyst panel and inclusion criteria (absent); the review grids let vendors self-list (Part); the crowd list, the topic index and a search engine take submissions, tags and pages from anyone (Yes) [gartner-mq] [forrester-wave] [g2-scoring] [trustradius-scoring] [alternativeto-about] [github-topics] Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=2 nonval=1 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Declared population as data, corroborated by the public listsSource present; authored stronger claim: fl_named_add in runtime/nx_field_lib.nx, verified at emit. A seed row of kind named enumerates a member with its url; it merges case-insensitively into a rival the public lists already named so seeds_hit counts the corroboration, or enters as its own row -- the operator's 2026-09-05 correction that five results is a sample and the major modding communities must be enumerated, not picked. Forrester publishes inclusion criteria and the review grids publish their eligibility rules (Part); the crowd list and topic index enumerate by submission (Yes); an analyst panel and a search engine publish no population at all [forrester-wave] [g2-scoring] [trustradius-scoring] [alternativeto-about] [github-topics] Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=2 nonval=1 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Code-hosting topic pages as a seed kindMeasured: fl_gh_scan exists in runtime/nx_field_lib.nx, verified at emit. GitHub topic pages read for repository names in the order the site presents them: the topic index IS this source (Best); a search engine indexes the same repositories (Part) [github-topics] Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=2 nonval=1 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Awesome-list markdown as a seed kindMeasured: fl_md_scan exists in runtime/nx_field_lib.nx, verified at emit. Curated markdown lists read for name and link pairs -- the open-source field's own directory form, hosted on the code host (Best), partly mirrored by the crowd list and indexed by search (Part) [github-topics] [alternativeto-about] Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=2 nonval=1 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Candidates ordered by seed agreement first and mentions secondMeasured: fl_order exists in runtime/nx_field_lib.nx, verified at emit. A rival named by more independent seeds ranks above one named often by a single seed, and a declared member ranks as a tier above every lead; no vendor can pay for placement and no seat can hand-pick it. Every rival has an ordering of its own: two analyst axes, a 3-point rubric with customer feedback, Satisfaction and Market Presence, trScore weighted by recency and depth, community votes, stars, engine rank (Yes) [gartner-mq] [forrester-wave] [g2-scoring] [trustradius-scoring] [alternativeto-about] [github-topics] Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=2 nonval=1 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Seeds fetched through the sovereign fetcher with mirrors reusedMeasured: fd_fetch exists in runtime/nx_field_discover.nx, verified at emit. A mirror already in knowledge/fetched is reused and a missing one is fetched by nx_research_fetch; failures are counted and named in the receipt, never hidden. Gartner reports are paywalled (absent); Forrester's methodology is open and its reports paywalled and G2's product detail is login-walled (Part); the rest serve open pages (Yes) [gartner-mq] [forrester-wave] [g2-scoring] [trustradius-scoring] [alternativeto-about] [github-topics] Adoption: REGISTERED-DARK — PARTIAL: callable, authorised, completed MCP invocation not established by supplied journal window; lifetime history unknown (direct execution may be recorded elsewhere; this scan does not establish lifetime use); no execution surface runs it either (clock, cron, daemon, roster, actlog and surfaced forks checked).

The field rendered beside every matrixMeasured: field_pass exists in runtime/nx_swcompare_lib.nx, verified at emit. ONE reader in the compare base renders <dom>.field for both generators as a ranked table with the header row and a stats line; an absent file emits nothing. Every rival renders its own field as its whole product -- a report, a grid, a page, a list, a results page -- never beside a capability matrix (Part) [gartner-mq] [g2-scoring] [alternativeto-about] [github-topics] Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=34 nonval=28 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Matrix columns measured as a subset of the discovered fieldSource present; authored stronger claim: fi_ci_contains in runtime/nx_swcompare_lib.nx, verified at emit. The stats line prints columns_in_field of columns and how many discovered rivals have no column at all, so a seat's pick is shown for what it is; no rival measures its own selection against a discovered population Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=34 nonval=28 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Seeds derived from every board's own columns and pinned refsMeasured: sg_emit exists in runtime/nx_field_seedgen_lib.nx, verified at emit. A domain's declared population already sits on its board (the @cols rivals) with their pages pinned in its refs; nx_field_seedgen writes <dom>.seeds rows of kind named from those two files, never inventing a url (an unsourced column is a counted comment, a hand-curated file is refused untouched, a board with nothing sourced gets no file), so the fleet inherits a field on the next beat -- no rival re-derives its rival set from its own citation register Adoption: LIB-WIRED importers=2 nonval=1 — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Off-peak evaluation beatSource present; authored stronger claim: fw_beat in runtime/nx_field_beat.nx, verified at emit. A clock row under clk_storm_defer with an off-peak window re-runs discovery per domain so the field is living, not authored once. The analyst reports refresh on a quarterly-to-annual cycle (Part); the review grids decay reviews daily or weight them by recency and the crowd, topic and search views are continuous (Yes) [gartner-mq] [forrester-wave] [g2-scoring] [trustradius-scoring] Adoption: RUN-BY:clock — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Seed drift re-fetch with pin compareSource present; authored stronger claim: fw_refetch_drift in runtime/nx_field_beat.nx, verified at emit. Each seed mirror is re-fetched on every beat and byte-compared with the mirror it replaces; DRIFTED seeds are counted per domain in the discover receipt and summed into the beat's stamp as drifted_total, a measurement never an alarm (a page carrying a per-request nonce drifts every beat) -- the alarm is the field diff FW9 raises when a rival appears or vanishes; no rival publishes a pinned, re-verifiable source set Adoption: RUN-BY:clock — fully adopted (top of its ladder).

Search results as a seed kindDARK — runtime/nx_field_lib.nx EXISTS but does not declare fl_search_scan: something shipped at this path under another name, and this mark would read open forever. Repoint the contract to the real entry point (the plan rung AND this row) or rename the function; the flip follows on the next beat, and the comparewatch- plane row reads DARK until then. The sovereign index nx_websearch feeds query-ranked rivals into the field so the search-engine view enters without a third party in the path; the search engine IS this source (Best) [google-ranking]

Rival capability read into matrix columnsOpen — watching runtime/nx_field_read.nx : fw_rival_read, re-measured on every compare beat. Ship that symbol and this mark flips itself; the comparewatch- plane row flips with it. A discovered rival earns a column when its capability page is read and its claims pinned as refs -- presence in the field is a lead, never a verdict. Repoint the contract to the real entry point (the plan rung AND this row) or rename the function; the flip follows on the next beat, and the comparewatch- plane row reads DARK until then. The intelmine review miner graded against the field so demand and defects weight rivals the way a review grid does. G2 and TrustRadius are built on review volume (Best); Forrester's customer feedback replaces market presence, the crowd's votes and the host's stars are volume signals (Part); an analyst quadrant and a search engine carry none [forrester-wave] [g2-scoring] [trustradius-scoring] [alternativeto-about] [github-topics]

Repoint the contract to the real entry point (the plan rung AND this row) or rename the function; the flip follows on the next beat, and the comparewatch- plane row reads DARK until then. A rival that appears or vanishes between beats lands as a comparewatch row and a PM intake item, so the hive sees the field move; no rival ties its field to a work queue

Operator acceptance of the field per domainDARK — runtime/nx_accept_gate.nx EXISTS but does not declare ga_accept_fieldwatch: something shipped at this path under another name, and this mark would read open forever. Repoint the contract to the real entry point (the plan rung AND this row) or rename the function; the flip follows on the next beat, and the comparewatch- plane row reads DARK until then. Completion is three-party agreement: referee grade, operator ACCEPT row, seat attestation -- the discovered field reads incomplete until all three exist

Rival-claim provenance. Every Yes, Best or Part mark in a rival column is a claim about someone else's product. A cited row carries a reference mark that resolves to a pinned mirror (the refs gate measures that); an uncited row is an observation read and is badged in its evidence until a reference lands. The badge is the receipt, never the proof: a mark proves a mirror exists, not that the mirror supports the code. The rows are counted below.

2026-09-06FW12lessonA SILENT SEED CAP, MEASURED 2026-09-06: nx_field_discover carried FD_MAX_SEEDS=62 and its receipt's capped= field belongs to the candidate TABLE, not the seed list -- so when modding.seeds grew to 78 rows (35 non-US communities declared after the operator asked whether CJK, Europe and Russia carry sourceable modding and adult 3D communities) the run walked 62, dropped 16 declared members in silence and printed seeds=62 capped=0. A CAP REACHED IN SILENCE BECOMES A MEASUREMENT NOBODY KNOWS IS PARTIAL, and a flag named for one population cannot certify another. Fixed at the root, never raised: the cap is deleted, the seed table is sized from the file by fd_count_seed_rows (rows beginning seed

2026-09-05FW11lessonOPERATOR CORRECTION 2026-09-05: "things like nexus lexus and all the other major modding communities were ignored so i dont like the 5 results and done sample bullshit".
2026-09-05FW11lessonPROMOTE GUARD 2026-09-05: the named-kind rebuilds of nx_field_gate (52,028 B) and nx_field_discover (46,723 B) were REFUSED class=CAPLOSS against live binaries of 57,888 and 52,960 B (220 permil and 494 permil of live tokens absent). nx_contentdiff adjudicated both: symmetry=BIDIRECTIONAL, lost_srcpath 8 + lost_symbolname 67 + lost_sectname 3 on the gate with lost_other=0, i.e. every loss is compiler-embedded debug metadata -- the live twins came from the mgmt build lane (which builds with -g) and the stages from the sovereign lane (release); on the discover organ lost_other=3 and all three are the messages this rung rewrote (the unknown-kind text now names `named`, the .field header now names the declared population), each present on the GAINED side.
2026-09-05FW11landSHIPPED 2026-09-05: nx_field_gate rebuilt in the debug flavour (60,400 B, sha 94a9abdd4067eab8074d86cf94af1e12eb339e21fb81d7c8e067f22b1857c7c6, debug-info subprograms=74) -> PROMOTED with expect_sha256 and NO capability-loss flag (the guard cleared once flavours matched, confirming the ruler's flavour-mismatch reading) -> offc twin installed -> run on the NAS from the promoted binary: NX-NX-FIELD passed 20 of 20 verdict=GREEN, named_distinct=5, both bites BITE-PROVEN. fieldwatch.gates row updated to the 20-tooth read. nx_field_discover debug build 54,672 B sha 1dae8077e442eb5c754d0bb637c313c61c86457f9663f236e492ebe2e380fb8b staged byte-verified; promote in flight, then the second discovery run over the 41-seed modding set.
2026-09-05FW11measureSECOND FIELD 2026-09-05 (nx_field_discover modding, promoted 1dae8077, via nx_job_run): seeds=43 scanned=38 fetched=38 reused=0 failed=5 sum=43 named=31 candidates=650 mentions=1207 capped=0 bytes=40252.
2026-09-05FW11landTIERED ORDERING SHIPPED 2026-09-05: the second field showed the defect the operator would have seen next -- a declared member with one seed and one mention sorted below hundreds of encyclopedia links and outside the 60 rendered rows. nx_field_lib now lifts declared members by FL_DECLARED_TIER (64, above any seed popcount) in fl_order, and fl_named_add marks a merged member's kind word named so the page can tell population from lead. nx_field_gate gained two teeth (declared-members-order-first-as-a-tier; merged-member-carries-kind-named) and read 22 of 22 GREEN on the NAS from the PROMOTED binary 5eecabe78e8d063f7d16d84fc2e75a4328fd759d43473cd1d651a734f3541606 (61,592 B, debug flavour, promoted with expect_sha256 and no capability-loss flag); nx_field_discover rebuilt over the new lib and PROMOTED 29f1c36e08ea6515375a48d21567e7514e26f62b88bd77f958fdf186251ad5e2 (54,808 B); both offc twins installed; the third discovery run over modding is in flight and the regen follows it. Redirect stubs repointed: wiki-moddb -> ModDB, wiki-curseforge -> Curse_LLC.
2026-09-05FW11measureTHIRD FIELD 2026-09-05 (promoted nx_field_discover 29f1c36e over the tiered lib): seeds=43 scanned=38 fetched=38 failed=5 sum=43 named=31 candidates=736 mentions=1338 capped=0 bytes=45507.
2026-09-05FW5queueQUEUED 2026-09-05, in ranker order, each with its recipe: (1) FW4 fw_beat -- a clock row `nx_clockjob put fieldbeat <cadence> nx_field_beat.elf` whose organ composes clk_storm_defer and an off-peak window from knowledge/peak_window.conf (to be declared), re-running nx_field_discover per domain in regen.list and stamping <journal>.stamp with rows=; (2) FW5 fw_refetch_drift -- in the same organ, hash each seed mirror against fetch_provenance.jrnl's pin, DRIFTED re-runs discovery; add a REDIRECT-following leg to nx_field_discover (a wiki-raw mirror under 128 B beginning #REDIRECT re-fetches its target title, announced) and a SIZE-FLOOR stub classifier for named mirrors (mod.io 3,281 B, Bethesda Creations 763 B, Paradox Mods 3,186 B, ModDrop 2,533 B, Wabbajack 1,460 B, Smutbase and Open3DLab 7,388 B are JS shells or bot walls today and count as fetched); (3) FW9 fw_pm_tieout -- diff two consecutive .field files, land appearances and disappearances as comparewatch rows (knowledge/store/comparewatch-, full prefix) and nx_pm_intake items; (4) FW7 fw_rival_read -- read one declared member's capability page into a proposed column with every cell traceable to a pinned byte, starting with Nexus Mods and LoversLab on the modding board; (5) a fleet campaign: one <dom>.seeds per domain in regen.list (109 domains), declared population first, discovery seeds second. Then nx_gate_bite nx_field_gate runtime/nx_field_lib.nx 2 when the box is quiet (every mutant build is a deploy).
2026-09-05FW2landPUBLISHED 2026-09-05: /compare/modding republished by the regen holding lease regen-1788641012 with the third field -- the page's stats line reads field candidates 736, shown 60 of 736, matrix columns in the field 3 of 6, discovered rivals with no column 733; rows 1 to 4 are Steam Workshop (4 seeds), Nexus Mods (3), ModDB (2), LoversLab, then the remaining declared communities with their urls and kind named, then the corroborated leads. nx_page_verify through nx_job_run: page status=200 bytes=228652, a11y-issues=0, broken=0, VERDICT=GREEN. The fieldwatch page itself publishes last in regen.list and is awaited from the same run.
2026-09-05FW2lessonREFUSED BY THE GENERATOR'S LIAR-KILL 2026-09-05 (regen 1788641012: published=227 fails=3, forkfresh=4): NX-SWCOMPARE-MATRIX domain=fieldwatch rows=16 cols=7 coverage=562/1000 verdict=RED, check failed present<5 -- six of the eight live rows claimed EXCEEDS and only two read PRESENT.
2026-09-05FW2landPUBLISHED 2026-09-05: /compare/fieldwatch served for the first time by regen 1788643041 after the regrade (six PRESENT rows cleared the liar-kill) -- nx_page_verify through nx_job_run: page status=200 bytes=84491 a11y-issues=0 broken=0 VERDICT=GREEN, seven rival columns rendered.
2026-09-05FW2landREPUBLISHED 2026-09-05: the regraded fieldwatch.matrix landed (7242 to 9106 B; the write answered 503 read-after-accept and HAD committed, proven by size then by reading the cells back) and the regen holding lease regen-1788646308 published it -- nx_page_verify through nx_job_run: page status=200 bytes=90077 a11y-issues=0 broken=0 VERDICT=GREEN; all four generator forks FORK-FRESH. Board accepted by no one yet: referee grade and operator ACCEPT row still owed.
2026-09-05FW4landTHE OFF-PEAK FIELD BEAT SHIPPED 2026-09-05: nx_field_beat_lib (pure decisions) + nx_field_beat (the loop, fw_beat) + nx_field_beat_gate, all three sources in buildroot/runtime; the gate built on the sovereign lane, staged with nx_filecopy, PROMOTED with expect_sha256 (a2fcd8f7, 42837 B), registered, runner twin installed, READ 28 of 28 GREEN on the NAS through nx_job_run with the receipt-anchor negative control BITE-PROVEN; the beat PROMOTED (493d0467, 35731 B), registered, twin installed, cap minted (nonce 20260905, 30 days); clock row fieldbeat 86400 nx_field_beat.elf declared (CLOCKJOB-PUT rows=173, folded at the scheduler's next window) and the name added to knowledge/status/clock_heavy.conf so clk_storm_defer parks it while the I/O-storm ruler reports zero spawn budget -- peak is measured, never a wall-clock guess. FIRST PRODUCTION STAMP knowledge/status/fieldbeat.stamp: ts=1788649152 domains=111 ran=1 ok=1 failed=0 skipped_no_seeds=110 sum=111 candidates_total=736 verdict=GREEN (modding re-read: 736 candidates, 31 declared, 5 seed fetches failed and named), journal knowledge/status/fieldbeat.jrnl one row per domain. The fw_beat symbol the watch row names is source-landed (8578 B); its rebuild was refused by build admission twice (run queue 8 and 9 of 8, load 2104 against 1643) and is absorbed into the mgmt build queue -- the served binary runs the identical loop under main until it fires.
2026-09-05FW4queue110 of 111 domains carry NO .seeds file, so the beat skips them by construction: the fleet worklist is one <dom>.seeds per domain (kinds wiki-raw, gh-topic, md-list, named), starting where a matrix already names rivals; FW5 (seed drift re-fetch by hash, fw_refetch_drift) is the next rung on this organ, and a size-floor stub classifier for named mirrors (mod.io 3281 B, Bethesda Creations 763 B, Paradox 3186 B, ModDrop 2533 B, Wabbajack 1460 B are JS or bot shells counted as fetched) rides with it.
2026-09-05FW12landTHE SEED GENERATOR SHIPPED 2026-09-05: nx_field_seedgen_lib + nx_field_seedgen + nx_field_seedgen_gate; gate 25 of 25 GREEN on the NAS from the PROMOTED binary (3adefbde, 62592 B) with the image-url and asset-mirror traps bite-proven; seedgen PROMOTED (ebf6865f, 47832 B), registered, twin installed, cap minted.
2026-09-05FW12measuresourced share of declared columns after the fleet pass: 351 of 467 (751 permil); domains carrying a seeds file: 103 of 111 (102 derived + modding hand-curated).
2026-09-05FW4measureSECOND PRODUCTION STAMP, the fleet's first: fieldbeat ts=1788651480 domains=111 ran=103 ok=103 failed=0 skipped_no_seeds=8 sum=111 candidates_total=1087 capped=0 verdict=GREEN -- every derived seeds file discovered a field (named members with their pinned pages; discovery seeds remain per-domain curation), 736 of the 1087 candidates are modding's corroborated field and the other 102 boards contribute their declared columns. The compare regen renders each <dom>.field beside its matrix on the next publish.
2026-09-06FW5landSEED DRIFT SHIPPED 2026-09-05 as a MEASUREMENT: nx_field_discover already re-fetched every seed on every run (only a failed fetch reuses the mirror on disk), so drift is measured, not inferred -- the previous mirror is snapshotted before the fetch and byte-compared with the one that replaces it (fd_same), each changed seed prints FIELD-SEED-DRIFTED key= old_bytes= new_bytes=, and the receipt gains drifted= same= fresh=; discover PROMOTED 86efa719 (56344 B). nx_field_beat gained fw_refetch_drift (the watch symbol: the receipt's drifted= or UNPARSED when absent, never summed as zero), a drifted= column per domain row and drifted_total= in the stamp; PROMOTED b26be1cf (43496 B). nx_field_beat_gate gained the stamp-carries-drifted_total tooth: 29 of 29 GREEN on the NAS from the PROMOTED binary 0702eb08.
2026-09-06FW12landFLEET PUBLISHED 2026-09-05: the regen launched after the fleet beat (lease regen-1788652481, all four generator forks FORK-FRESH) rendered a field table beside every board that carries a .field -- /compare/stem reads field candidates 4, shown 4 of 4, matrix columns in the field 4 of 4, discovered rivals with no column 0 (the honest shape of a derived field: the declared columns and nothing beyond them until discovery seeds are curated); /compare/graphics page_verify GREEN 504081 B with 5 assets decoded; /compare/fieldwatch page_verify GREEN 104138 B with its own field, the FW4 and FW5 cells LIVE (fw_beat, fw_refetch_drift measured at emit) and the FW12 row present. FW5 wire witness: a one-domain control run of the promoted beat over graphics reported drifted=1 of 2 seeds and stamped /tmp/fb_one.list.stamp with drifted_total=1, leaving knowledge/status/fieldbeat.stamp untouched.
On these two registers. Rows are declared in the domain's plan file and carry the debt id, which is the join key back to the sovereign debt plane — that plane, not this page, is the authority on state. Reconciling them automatically (the regen reading the plane and refreshing these rows) is a named, owed rung; until it lands, treat an id here as a pointer to look up, not a status to trust.
Honest verdict. The coverage above records source-symbol presence. Stronger comparisons are authored claims, not measured runtime superiority or accepted outcomes. A watch contract names an expected source symbol; finding it changes source discovery only. Qualification, deployment and runtime acceptance require their own evidence.

Person · product · place — not yet measured for this domain

Every compare carries this layer. Declare knowledge/compare/fieldwatch.ppp (rows surface|nishi or c1..c4|label|url|connect naming OUR live surface and each rival's front door), run nx_ppp_probe domain fieldwatch, and this section fills itself on the next beat: the same ruler on both sides — privacy and CX (third-party hosts, tracker classes, cookies, security headers), design and longevity (design hygiene, computed WCAG contrast, render-blocking resources, unsized media, script weight, theme and motion queries), findability (landmarks, skip link, on-site search, breadcrumb, headings, internal links).

The field — discovered, not chosen

Rows written by nx_field_discover from fieldwatch.seeds: the industry's own lists (Wikipedia wikitext, GitHub topics, awesome lists) read mechanically, every candidate counted across seeds. The matrix columns above are a SEAT'S pick; this band is the population they were picked from, and the stats line measures one against the other. A rival here is a lead, never a verdict — it earns a column when its capabilities are read and pinned.

Discovery receipt. One row per counter the run wrote, in the receipt's own order; the rival rows follow in their own table.

Exclusive and shared capabilities

One capability is graded on one board; every other board references it. The fleet duplicate census (nx_rivalcensus dupes, on the fleetdupes clock row) reads every board's matrix and names each capability graded as a row on two or more boards, with a home derived from evidence: rung when exactly one board's plan contracts the symbol (that board is starred), gates when no plan contracts it and exactly one board's executed gate map runs the organ's gate (that board is plussed), ambiguous when several boards carry the deciding evidence (a decision for their seats), and none when no evidence decides it, with the reason beside it: unmapped (no board of the duplicate declares a gates map; declare the maps) or unproven (a map exists and runs none of the organ's gates; gate the organ on its proving board, or declare it a shared library by policy). A home elsewhere means this board should carry an @xrow reference to the home board's row rather than a graded row of its own; a home here means the other boards should. The table is this board's slice of one estate-wide census: the shape is shared, the rows are the board's.

This board grades 17 capabilities: 17 exclusive to it and 0 shared with other boards. Shared rows on this page: 0 = home here 0 + home elsewhere 0 + ambiguous 0 + undecided 0 + refused 0 (partition 0); undecided = unmapped 0 + unproven 0 + unevidenced 0; homonyms 0; since the previous census: new 0, resolved 0. Census FRESH age_s=7193.

Gaps from the record — what the estate does that no board carries

The record census (nx_goalmap record) reads the invoked-tool population and every plan queue row and files each organ or directive that NO matrix, plan or gates row names. A row here is a callout the boards missed: adjudicate it onto a board or declare it infrastructure. Census state STALE (age 1396298 s), sources read 4 of 7 declared — a BLIND census is a FLOOR: unread sources can only add rows.
